Big Moment

Andy Maddox, a boxer, is in his dressing-room about to defend the title of Lightweight Champion of the world. He is eager to win, having promised his fiancee, Susan, that it shall be his last fight. During the contest Susan and her mother wait in the dressing-room and Bert, the masseur, brings them news round by round. The fight has an exciting finish. Andy takes a good deal of punishment but wins, and returns to the dressing-room. But it will indeed be his last fight. When Larry, the trainer, hands him the Championship Belt, Andy cannot see it. A doctor had warned him previously that further blows on the eye would blind him, and this has been the price of his victory.
