Overview
The Kalila wa Dimna, one of the masterpieces of Eastern culture, is a collection of subtle and philosophical animal fables which carry immense significance to Arab and Persian society. This drama explores the creation of the fables in Iraq circa 750AD amidst the tragedy that unfolds around the author, Al-Muqaffa, as he battles for reform in the midst of fervent revolutionaries, heretic poets, religious propagandists, and a despotic ruler.
