Overview

Photo-journalist Stewart, who has won awards for his unflinching portrayals of Third World conditions, has turned his back on his career and sought refuge in his Suffolk house, accompanied by his young half-Brazilian son whom he hardly knows. Ammy, a young black reporter, is sent to uncover his story and Stewart has at last to face up to his past. This fine, moving and desperate story unfolds in two time zones - the 1970s and the present.
