Lucy Caldwell
Lucy Caldwells plays include CARNIVAL (Kabosh Theatre Company, 2008), BOG PEOPLE (Big Telly Theatre Company, 2007), LEAVES (Druid Theatre Galway, 2007), and THE RIVER (Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Chapter Arts Centre, Sherman Theatre, 2004). She has written two radio plays, GIRL FROM MARS and AVENUES OF ETERNAL PEACE. She has been commissioned to write for the Royal Court Theatre and Birmingham Repertory Theatre. In addition, Lucy has written a novel, Where They Were Missed, published in March 2006. She has won several awards, including the Irish Guild Award for Best Radio Play (2008), the Susan Smith Blackburn Award (2007), the George Devine Award for Most Promising Playwright (2006), the "Marie-Claire" Award for Heroes of Tomorrow (2006), and the PMA Award for Most Promising Playwright (2005). Apart from writing, Lucy works with the Pushkin Trust, a Northern Irish charity which teaches creative writing to primary school children and their teachers.
