Melissa James Gibson is a New York City-based playwright and screenwriter. For television, she is the creator/showrunner of an upcoming show for AppleTV+, and was the co-showrunner of Anatomy of a Scandal and House of Cards (Emmy nomination). She also wrote for the first two seasons of The Americans (Writer’s Guild of America Award nomination). As a playwright, her honors include: OBIE Award; Guggenheim Fellowship; Steinberg Playwright Award; Kesselring Prize; Whiting Writers Award; Lucille Lortel Foundation Playwrights’ Fellowship; LILLY Award; Jerome Fellow; MacDowell Colony Fellow; NEA/TCG Theatre Residency Program for Playwrights; and Susan Smith Blackburn Prize finalist. She received her MFA from the Yale School of Drama and is a graduate of New Dramatists. Her play THIS and Other Plays is published by TCG.
