Joe Penhall

Joe Penhall lives in London. His first play, WILD TURKEY, was performed at the Old Red Lion as part of the 1993 London New Play Festival. SOME VOICES (1994, Royal Court Theatre Upstairs) won him a Thames Television Bursary and the John Whiting Award in 1995 and was short-listed for the Lloyds Private Banking Playwright of the Year Award, the Verity Bargate Award, and the British Writers Guild Best Fringe Play. PALE HORSE (1995, Royal Court Theatre Upstairs) won the Thames Television Best Play Award. Joe is writer in residence at the Royal National Theatre.
