Philip Bartholomae

PHILIP BARTHOLOMAE was a writer, lyricist, producer and director. Between 1911 and 1926, Bartholomae contributed to fifteen productions that reached Broadway, including his play Over Night, which ran for 160 performances and served as the basis for the wildly successful Very Good Eddie, the second Princess Theatre musical. Bartholomae collaborated with Sigmund Romberg, Jerome Kern, Guy Bolton, John Boles, Fred and Adele Astaire and several of his shows were presented in the West End and in Australia. Some of the more popular titles include Girl O’ Mine, Over the Top and Tangerine. In the late 1930s, Bartholomae relocated to Beverly Hills, where he became a writer for MGM.
