Wyn Alyse Thomas

Wyn Alyse Thomas (she/her) is a writer, composer, producer and arts administrator from Buffalo Grove, IL. Her work explores the intersection of social issues and mental health in drama, comedy and musical forms, with a passion for creating strong queer and female representation and making the political personal. She is a nationally recognized playwright and composer with her work published and licensed by Concord Theatricals (stand. Up. HIT! and Write Their Wrongs) and Next Stage Press (Commitment Issues: A Musical). Other credits include First Semester: A Musical (2nd Place: Kennedy Center National Student Playwriting Award, 2nd Place: KCACTF Musical Theatre Award, David Shelton Award, New Georgia Group Grant Winner, Semifinalist: SheATL), Scared (National Semifinalist: American College Theatre Festival, Nuevas Voces Festival, Finalist: ENOUGH!), Prior Engagement (Barter Theatre College Playwrights Festival, Midwest Dramatists Conference) and Don’t Say Gay (Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival). She has worked extensively as an artist and activist with ENOUGH! Plays to End Gun Violence and has also worked with Ojai Playwrights Conference, Alliance Theatre, Ring of Keys and the American Alliance for Theatre and Education.
