Kenneth Jones’ breakout play Alabama Story was a Finalist in the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s National Playwrights Conference and been produced at scores of theaters around the nation. His comedy Hollywood, Nebraska (also published by Concord Theatricals) was first developed by the Wyoming Theater Festival and bowed in a three-city rolling world premiere in 2022. His other works include Two Henrys (a two-time O’Neill NPC Semi-Finalist), later re-titled Why We Go to Florida (Florida Rep PlayLab); Hut, Hut, Hike (2026 O’Neill Semi-Finalist); Tennessee Williams Drank Here (Florida Studio Theatre commission); Circa 1976 (O’Neill Semi-Finalist); Ten Minutes on a Bench (Florida Repertory Theatre PlayLab); the revue It Happened One Christmas (Pioneer Theatre Company); and the musical Naughty/Nice (Concord Theatricals). His plays and musicals have been produced or developed by Red Mountain Theatre, Pioneer Theatre Company, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Clarence Brown Theatre, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Peninsula Players, Florida Studio Theatre, Wyoming Theater Festival, Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theatre, off-Broadway’s TACT/The Actors Company Theatre, Ground UP Productions and elsewhere.
