Brad C. Slaight

Brad Slaight grew up in Cedar Springs, Michigan, which is known for its annual Red Flannel Festival. Discovering his acting roots early, his first stage role was Christopher Robin at the Kent Theater. After graduation, he attended Grand Rapids Junior College for one year, followed by three years at Central Michigan University, where he majored in theatre and worked with fellow actor Terry O’Quinn (was also O’Quinn’s college roommate.) He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education.

After graduating from CMU he taught Speech and Drama at Brandywine High School in Niles, Michigan for two years before moving out to Hollywood California to pursue a career in show business. He soon became a popular comedian performing at The Comedy Store and other local comedy clubs. He was an original founding member of the comedy team Moving Violations and also the critically acclaimed comedy duo Carl & Buzz (playing Carl Bradley, a former TV network executive) alongside TV celebrity Buzz Belmondo (Out of This World and Baywatch).

Brad has appeared in a number of stage plays in Los Angeles, including starring in The Merchant of Venice at the Globe Theater alongside Linda Purl and Scott Jacoby, for which Variety called him “the surprise and delight of the production,” and the critically acclaimed How Swede It Is, which he wrote and starred in. He has appeared on many television shows and in movies, including Parks and Recreation and a two-year co-starring role on The Young and the Restless.

As a playwright, Brad has written over a dozen popular stage plays, represented by Samuel French, that are produced frequently in the United States as well as all over the world.
