Jason Loewith

Jason Loewith produced and co-wrote the world premiere of Adding Machine: A Musical, winning Lucille Lortel and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best New Musical of the Season, as well as four OBIE Awards for direction, design, and performance; and is published by Samuel French. He is currently the Artistic Director of the Olney Theatre Center, where he recently directed Sweeney Todd, Carousel, Avenue Q, How to Succeed in Business…, and the world premiere of Steven Dietz’s Rancho Mirage. Other recent work includes the world premiere of Janece Shaffer’s Broke (Alliance Theatre, Atlanta), and a dozen plays for Chicago’s Next Theatre Company, where he served as artistic director from 2002-08. Before joining Olney Theatre Center, Jason proudly served four years as Executive Director of the National New Play Network. His book The Director’s Voice, Volume 2 was published by TCG in 2012, and his most recent play, Big Nate: The Musical written with Chris Youstra, was published by Samuel French in 2016.
