Realtín is Irish, outgoing, bubbly. She used to be a mad socialite, but things are different now. She has a 9-month-old daughter called Dolores. Ada is Glaswegian. She has a chip on her shoulder but a razor-sharp sense of humour. She is the aunt to baby Dolores. Realtín’s boyfriend – Ada’s brother – is dead.
This is a play about coping, friendship and motherhood, where everything is shifting constantly. Can these two young women come to terms with their past, for themselves, for each other, for Dolores?
For Dolores premiered across Ireland in 2026, produced by Fishamble: The New Play Company in association with Traverse Theatre, Galway International Arts Festival and Belltable. The play was performed at the Galway International Arts Festival and at the Pavilion Theatre in Dublin.
