Summary
Set in the 1950s in a municipal washhouse and a local Working Men's Club. A group of friends meet and talk their way through the weekly laundry, but one of them still dreams of becoming a famous clubland singer. Ideal for community theatre groups, it has a large cast, music and dancing. Features songs of the period which can be performed by talented actors rather than trained singers. Thirteen speaking parts for women and five for men. There can be as many non-speaking but all-singing people in the washhouse as are willing to get involved.
