Summary

Mark and Sally are travelling to Amsterdam to celebrate Mark's fiftieth birthday at a Bruce Springsteen concert. Unfortunately, they tackle the journey across the channel with their old friend Gill, who arouses conflicting emotions in Mark and has brought along her new boyfriend, Karl, who knows a little too much about Amsterdam's seedier side. Godber's salty comedy about social angst and culture clash is packed with near-the-knuckle language.
