Description

ALBERT MAKE US LAUGH

Meet Albert Nuttall, aged eleven. Some would say that he is backward and at first glance, you'd agree - but Albert is special. He is a poet and a visionary who, as he grows into puberty and manhood, inspires unexpected depths of emotion in other people - notably his classmate, Primrose Macaveney, whose glorious future as a musical actress fails to materialize, and the lost and lonely young schoolteacher, Janet Partington. This strange, touching and upliftng story - written to be enacted entirely by adults - is engaging and theatrically innovative, as one has come to expect from the ever-popular Jimmie Chinn, author of Straight and Narrow.

''A perfect childlike simplicity puts us at once into an intimate relationship with God, without any hindrance'' From Letters of Directionby the Abbe de Tourville.

''POWER PACKED - the play filled the theatre with laughter, tears, shock and a degree of pensiveness that betokens a very powerful drama.....Mr Chinn loves people, and that love shines through all his writing - and if he draws on his own growing pains for experience, why not, if it leads to such truthful portrayals as appear from his pen......an acute observer of the human condition.'' - Middlesex Chronicle.

''Rich, colloquial and intuitive.'' - Richmond and Twickenham Times.
