Summary
A roadsweeper's comrade convinces him that in being a nothing, he is the beginning of everything, and thus divine. Guided by this principle, he helps a nude ambassador recover his evening dress, but the roadsweeper finds he is treated much better as an ambassador than when dressed for his own profession, which makes him no longer an absolute and therefore not divine at all.
