A SAMUEL FRENCH, LTD. TITLE
Short Play, Comedy / 3w, 9m
Michael Green
All's Well That Ends As You Like It by Michael Green
Contained in the volume Four Plays for Coarse Actors in which the plays are presented as parodies of four dramatic styles.
From the volume Four Plays for Coarse Actors, this comedy ('from an idea by William Shakespeare' and 'set in the Forest of Solihull') pushes the genius of the Bard to its utmost limits, while managing to filch lin's from most of his own plays. Cues are missed, effects fail, props are lost or in the wrong place, furniture and scenery collapses but the Coarse Actors struggle gamefully on throughout. Apart from the essentials, the'settings can be simple or elaborate, as facilities permit.
First performed as part of The Coarse Acting Show at the Cathedral Hall, Edinburgh, on August 22nd, 1977.
