When Philip Arnold answers a call for help from the beautiful Frances Court he is, to put it mildly, surprised to find a dead body on the floor. Being very attracted to Frances he - rather against his better judgement - agrees to help her to avoid the consequences of her act, and at first believes her sad story. Frances, however, is a coldly calculating woman of somplete ruthlessness who uses men for her own ends. Philip soon finds himself let in for far more than he had expected; even, at the end, being accused by Frances before the police of her own crime. Only a fortunate last minute twist and one fatal slip by Frances releases him, and brings the murderess to her just fate.
