Full-Length Musical, Comedy / 5w, 6m
Book and Lyrics by Kevin Hammonds Music by Charles Miller
A hysterical and heart-warming new family musical set in New York over the Christmas period.
Real Estate shark, Kyle Prescott has his marching orders: Tear down a New York City homeless shelter in order to build a Cineplex - even if it is one week before Christmas. Kyle is humbled and amazed when he meets older resident Nick who has amnesia but also a giving spirit, even under such dire circumstances.
Meanwhile, as Christmas grows near, the elves at Santa’s Workshop have concerns of their own: Santa has been missing for nearly a year, and the workshop supervisor, Dolly, has no intentions of looking for him. Two of Santa’s best helpers, Scooter and Jack, head off to Santa’s last known whereabouts: New York City.
With his supervisor breathing down his neck, Kyle is feeling pressure to shut down the shelter, but when he learns that Nick was found unconscious in a Santa suit, he starts to believe that his new friend may be the actual Santa Claus. As the hustle and bustle of Christmas in New York builds to a frenzy, so does the action-packed twists and turns of this hysterical and heart-warming new family musical. This soon-to-be classic is filled with rousing Broadway tunes, and touching Christmas songs that will get even the most jaded city dweller in the holiday spirit.
Real Estate shark, Kyle Prescott has his marching orders: Tear down a New York City homeless shelter in order to build a Cineplex – even if it is one week before Christmas. However, Kyle's world is turned upside down when he descends upon the homeless residents who are less fortunate but seem so much richer than he ever could be.
Upon his first meeting with the shelter owner, Patricia, sparks fly as the two battle wits, as well as their attraction for one another. After he meets older resident Nick who has amnesia, Kyle is humbled and amazed at Nick's giving spirit and gratitude even under such dire circumstances. Suddenly, closing a deal isn't as important, and Kyle starts to long for a family of his own.
Meanwhile, as Christmas grows near, the elves at Santa's Workshop have concerns of their own:Â Santa has been missing for nearly a year, and the workshop supervisor, Dolly, has no intentions of looking for him. But two of Santa's best helpers, Scooter and Jack, can't sit back while Santa is missing in action. Together, they leave the workshop, and head off to Santa's last known whereabouts: New York City. An enterprising Elf with her own agenda, Dolly aspires to take over the holiday herself, and isn't about to let Scooter and Jack ruin her plan, so she follows them, determined to stop them at any cost.
With his supervisor breathing down his neck, Kyle is feeling pressure to shut down the shelter, but when he learns that Nick was found unconscious in a Santa suit, he starts to believe that his new friend may be the actual Santa Claus. Kyle discovers Nick's soul possession from the previous life he can't remember: an angel for his pocket, the very same angel Kyle offered to Santa when he was a child. Suddenly, Kyle is certain that Nick is the real deal. Together, he and Patricia try to help Nick get his memory back before Christmas Eve. Getting through the busy streets of New York is hard enough, but throw in two Elves lost on the mean streets of Manhattan, an evil Elf determined to stop them, and a budding romance between two sworn enemies, and it's anyone's guess if Nick will remember his true identity in time for Christmas.
As the hustle and bustle of Christmas in New York builds to a frenzy, so does the action-packed twists and turns of this hysterical and heart-warming new family musical. This soon-to-be classic is filled with rousing Broadway tunes, and touching Christmas songs that would get even the most jaded city dweller in the holiday spirit.
