Dot and Aunt Ethel are in the waiting-room at the doctor's surgery. Dot is so overwhelmed by the chatter of Mrs Pritchett, a neighbour, about the details of her last operation that she feels faint. As the nurse comes to her rescue Dot is assured that the doctor will soon put her right: but this is no consolation for her, as it is not she but Aunt Ethel who has come for treatment.
