Summary
Visiting his friend, Edward Tracey, whom he has not seen since schooldays, George Cardew finds him married to a woman whose life is a series of crazes. At the moment it is reincarnation, and being told by Professor Partlett that in former days she was Queen Elizabeth, Marion Tracey insists on moving into a Tudor mansion. Thinking to cure her the two men devise a plan whereby Edward is to pretend to have visit the Professor and been told that in the part he was Casanova; he is then to be caught by Marion making love to George's wife Esta. The plan miscarries and Edward is seen by his butler kissing Esta. However, he goes on with the original intentions and tells Marion of his desire for the company of other women, as intimated to him by Professor Partlett. She is not in the least disturbed by these confessions, because she knows that the Professor has been arrested for fraud. Edward and George are rejoicing over that they think must be the end of the reincarnation craze, when George is horrifed to find a whole set of books, ordered by Marion, on Nudism.
