Of all of Lorca's plays this is perhaps the most experimental, demonstrating his strong interest in surrealism. In the play dreams are mixed with reality, characters and events are presented in no particular order and there is no definable plot. Time is also uncertain. The dream-like quality of this play offers excellent opportunities for sound, lighting and set design.
