Paul Bradshaw
First presented as a double bill at The Park Theatre in London in 2026 to critical acclaim, these two plays discuss modern gay relationships. Written with a raw authenticity, the plays are in dialogue with each other and are published together but can be performed separately as standalone one-acts. More about each individual play below:
tell me straight
tell me straight is a fast-paced, coming-of-adulthood play about sexuality, desire and the uncertainty of modern relationships. ‘Him’ is a thirty something gay man whose long line of romantic fumbles have one thing in common, they are all straight. Sick of Him’s nonsense, best friend Dani insists he should fix up and “find an actual gay man, who likes actual gay men!” So Him embarks on a 30-day detox from alcohol, fast food and sex, in a bid to avoid distractions... but straight men are like buses.
aggy
Exploring privilege, gender and race, aggy asks urgent questions about art and who gets to make it. Lawrence and Mahlik have been together for almost a year, and it’s going pretty well on all accounts. So when Mahlik’s contract is up at his flat, moving in together feels like the logical next step. After a particularly tough rejection, Mahlik makes a risky suggestion for Lawrence’s next project – that he present as an alter ego to advance his career. As success starts to roll in, the couple must face uncomfortable truths neither can ignore.
