Overview

Described as a 'tale of horror' and based on'shakespeare's Measure For Measure, this is a powerful political allegory on Nazi racial policy and conditions in 1930s Germany. The population of the town of Luma comprises Zaks and Ziks, two races, of whom the first have round and the'second pointed heads. Angelo (i.e. Hitler), a roundhead, is appointed temporary ruler by the departing Regent but on his return, he tells Angelo to prepare for war; the people are subdued and the revolutionaries executed.
