Overview

A response to Pushkin's Eugene Onegin, this verse play tells the story of Russian dandy, Onegin. Dismissing the love of Tatyana, Onegin flirts with his friend's fiancée and then kills him in a duel. He travels away in remorse, only to return some years later to feel a strong attraction to Tatyana, who, now married, rebuffs him. In Russian Plays with Brothers Karamazov, Gogol and Satan's Ball.
