Overview

Instead she meets Raymond; in reality a messenger boy at the Dream Date's offices, but who concocts lavish stories of a wealthy, carefree lifestyle for all the girls he takes out. Kathy is impressed, but then learns the mundane truth about Ray and the hard facts about Dream Date - a magazine that purveys fantasy for the purpose of making money. She ends up disillusioned yet wiser girl, while Ray, for his part, grows up and stops pretending to be something he isn't. As for the magazine? Well, there's another issue hot off the presses just waiting to suply more glamorous dreams to the public. As the chorus plays a vital and very imaginative role representing the pages of the magazine brought to life and acting as an ironic background commentary to the main action, there are many opportunities for some spectacular production numbers.
