Acid Drops

The narrow existence of various types of workhouse women is enlivened by the visits of Miss Flora and the curate, whose love affair stands in a fair way to being ruined by a ridiculous tiff. A dear old lady who is quietly drifting away from life in a workhouse bed, is the menas of reuniting the lovers, while another wicked, but very human old woman, Mrs Price, establishes her title to "Emperor of the Ward" by the exercise of her superior intelligence.
