Glorious! follows Florence Foster Jenkins – dubbed “the worst singer in the world” – as she defies her critics to pursue her dreams.
Florence Foster Jenkins is about to blow your mind… and possibly your eardrums.
Glorious! is the true story of American socialite Florence Foster Jenkins, dubbed “the worst singer in the world,” known for her flamboyant costumes, enigmatic performances and decidedly off-key voice.
Glorious! follows Florence’s journey as she prepares for her concerts, builds an unlikely friendship with her accompanist, Cosme, and defies her critics to follow her dreams.
Glorious! received its UK premiere at the Hope Mill Theatre in March 2025. The UK Tour began in February 2026.
FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS – Eccentric American lady, in the autumn of her years. The real Florence was in her 70s, but the part has been played to perfection by actresses of lesser years. So casting should be for someone in her 50s and upwards. It is not necessary that the actress is a great singer. It has been performed with equal success by good singers singing badly and funny non-singers singing badly.
COSME McMOON – A pianist, early thirties. Ideally the actor will be able to play piano, but if this is not possible, then his playing can be dummied with the music played offstage.
An actress to play all of these roles: DOROTHY – Florence’s friend, of similar ageMARIA – Florence’s Italian cookMRS VERRINDER-GEDGE – An American society lady of late middle age
“Blissfully funny.” – The Daily Telegraph

“This delightful and blissfully funny play generates a rare glow of warmth and generous laughter.” – The Daily Telegraph
“Humour, heart and hope... Simply glorious!” – Manchester Theatres
