Media
“A hell of a lot of fun… genuinely funny, topical and heartfelt.” – Entertainment Weekly
“Genuinely funny.” – Stage Raw
“One of the Good Ones brings the generations into collision for laughs and social enlightenment. The squabbles of a Latine family take center stage in a show that emphasizes cultural difference only to reveal universal patterns and fond similarities.” – L.A. Times
“Witty… gets more pleasurable as it goes along.” – Variety
“A hell of a lot of fun… Kellett writes with her usual blend of humor, cultural specificity and acknowledgment of real-world issues. The approach, showcased by [Norman] Lear on his hit shows like All In the Family, allows audiences to engage with today’s most pressing concerns through laughter… it’s an age-old question of what is lost and what is gained with assimilation, presented with a new, hip vocabulary and heaps of one-liners… One of the Good Ones is the type of writing both theatre and television could use more of – genuinely funny, topical and heartfelt without feeling preachy or overly sentimental.” – Entertainment Weekly
