Summary
He overhears the lodger and a friend talking about the spate of Post Office robberies that have been occurring in the district. Ernie thinks that they must be the thieves. He informs his father who is a postman and together with another postman they hide in the post office so that when the thieves break in they can catch them red handed.
However the lodger and his friend turn out to be detectives investigating the robberies and the two postman have some explaining to do as to why they were in the post office after hours.
