ALEX – Age 14; any gender; high school freshman, wonder-full, optimistic, stubborn, excited to finally be a high school student SUMA – Age 17; female; high school senior, practical, responsible, determined, comes from a loving family and is used to taking care of her siblings, star high school athlete LEE – Age 17; male; high school senior, hopeful, curious, uncoordinated, local spelling bee champion, will attend an Ivy League institution for college STORYTELLER – Mid-late 30s; any gender (though should be the same gender as Alex); realist, cynical, in therapy for PTSD QUESTIONER / POLICE OFFICER – 40s; any gender; stoic but gentle, above all sympathetic
